What does true revival look like? In this sermon, we trace the story of Nehemiah 10—a moment when Israel renewed their covenant with God, pledging to walk in obedience, uphold worship, and separate themselves from the world. Yet, despite their sincerity, their revival ultimately failed. The temple was rebuilt, but God’s glory never returned. The Law was restored, but the people still broke it. The walls were secured, but they could not keep sin out.
But four hundred years later, Christ came—not to rebuild what would crumble, but to establish a revival that would never fail.
Where Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah labored and fell short, Jesus Christ succeeded. He is the true Temple, the fulfillment of the Law, and the foundation of the eternal Kingdom. And through Him, we are now the covenant people of God—the revival that will never fade.
