Who we are

Redemption Hill Church was planted in 2015 with a deep commitment to Gospel-centred discipleship. We gather every week to encourage one another, love one another, sing praises to God, and most importantly, to hear from God's word. We believe in the centrality of the Bible - the inerrant, infallible and sufficient word of God - in the life and ministry of the church.

A short history

The greatest apologetic that can be offered for our small fellowship becoming a local church is love. In the early months of 2015, the Lord began creating a gospel community of His people in the city of Trivandrum. What began as a simple prayer fellowship with the desire to worship Christ and to love one another as the scripture instructs, soon began to outgrow its capacities. The growing need for greater accountability and deeper fellowship started to show us more clearly that we needed to be part of a local church. Living in a state that has the highest density of churches in the country, our initial attempts were to become part of one of these existing communities. However, God had other plans for us. He began leading each one of us through different circumstances to consider a work He would do among us. And so, on July 5 ‘2015, after many days of prayer, fasting and planning, we held our first church service in the house of one of the church families. And now, a few years down the line, we are joyfully more assured that God's thoughts and plans for us are higher than our own.

We believe in

The Gospel

The Gospel is good news. God created us, man and woman, in His image that we may glorify Him by enjoying him forever. But sin entered the world through the fall of Adam and now we are, all of us, marred by sin and thus deserving of God’s eternal punishment. And yet, in the most glorious display of love and mercy, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to provide for us sinners, the way to Eternal Life. This is the Gospel and it is the power of God for our salvation. Jesus invites everyone everywhere to repent and believe in this good news.

We believe in the need for

The Local Church

We are created to thrive in community and not to journey alone. Jesus created the church and authorised it to pronounce the gospel of His salvation, to oversee the discipleship of His children, to raise and affirm gospel teachers and to expose false teachers. the New Testament witness to the ceaseless efforts of Christ and His apostles to build the church, Christ’s bride whom He washes with the word to present holy and blameless before the Father. A healthy church is indispensable to the spiritual growth of God’s elect. Christ will soon return for His bride.
