A topical sermon on the love of christ, aiming to know and grow in awe of the love that Christ has for us. A Christ who so cares for his people, that he not only saves but intimately acquaints with us, knowing the weaknesses of our hearts and struggles of lives for he in every respect had been tempted like we are. A Christ who with ‘love so pure’, meets us in our prayer room and in our daily lives, with joy in his heart, tending to our needs.

In this second parable, we see how Jesus’s Kingdom, the World, has both seeds and weeds; how both grow together till the fullness of time, when all of the weed will be plucked out and burned. However, the fruit-bearing disciples, the true seeds, will shine before the Father.

This week we saw Jesus’ use of parables was not just illustrative but a means of obscuring revelation. Tracing the passage back to Isaiah 6, we see how it brings judgment on the unbelieving but brings abundance to the Christian. The secrets of Christ’s Kingdom belong to his people.

Restarting the expository journey of Matthew’s gospel, Pastor Michael takes the parable of the sower and uses it as litmus for our receptiveness towards the Series on the Gifts. We saw how hearing, understanding, being rooted in truth, and avoiding worldly thorns make our hearts the good soil that bears much fruit.
